Mass at the National Cathedral

Mass at the National Cathedral

Today we went to mass for the first Sunday of the Lenten season, March 1st.

The architecture is absolutely amazing, and the sounds that resonate from the organ on these walls was overwhelming.

Even more so was voices of the choir singing during the opening hymn, responsorial,  offertory, and communion. I have never heard a more perfect harmony from one group of young people.  When the organ played and the music began I closed my eyes and swayed softly to the side as I feel a part of the beat itself.  I have never experienced such beautiful sounds from a liturgical choir in my life.

There were many people gathered there, it amazed me of how many different religious backgrounds.  What mattered was that we were there for a common purpose, worship.  To thank God and to continue to bring his healing angels of hope upon us in these trying times of uncertainty.  My faith will continue to be strong, no matter what the outcome.  I see the others gathered here,  it gives me satisfaction that maybe one day we can love, and live in peace.
