St Louis trip

MAN was I exhausted after a long 3 day training in Missouri. I was so happy to be back in Maryland when the plane landed late Sunday night. Its probably because I didnt get far beyond the perimeters of the St. Louis Airport (the training/conference was no more than 5 mi from there) that I wasnt too impressed with what I saw. On friday morning around 5am I went on a scenic tour of the surrounding city. Well what I thought would be scenic. My good friends tell me I should think before I do things. Well this was one of those times. It was well before sunrise and heres this blonde 130 lb nothing white girl running around southern St. Louis in the dark. Needless too say I somehow kept out of trouble for the most part besides the honking, whistling and occasional mexican that I couldnt understand on the side of the road that I would sprint by to avoid. I made sure to keep i contact with the locals and say good morning to avoid any confrontation. So that was my morning run. Pretty interesting. Lots of churches, liquor stores. My favorite was the Steak and Shake restaurant.

I wish I had some extra time to go into the city to sightsee, but they kept us pretty occupied during the day and into the late evening. It was a great trip though none the less and I got some extra training in for the race coming up.
