Doggie jitters on I40

Doggie jitters on I40

Bailey refusing to get back into the car

Today we did well with time. we made it through Virginia and into Tenessee. We are staying the night halfway between Knoxville and Nashville. Bailey on the other hand, couldn’t shake the doggie jitters. He must have stood on all fours half the trip pacing and looking intently at passing vehicles. Trucks especially seem to upset him. The other half of the time he was attempting to climb into the front seat, which he suceeded in halfway through the trip. When he manuevered his way to the passenger seat (aka my lap) he also managed to bump the gear shift as we traveled 70 mph. Bailey also refused to get back into the car after his walks. He sits on the ground as I attempt to lift him back in the car.

Understandably he is anxious since his longest car ride to date has been 15 minutes. Maybe he is getting his revenge after the bath and toenail clipping session last night. Every time I turned around he was practically breathing on my neck. After walking him at the Cracker Barrel, we thought he had done his business. Well 3 hours later we arrive at the Best Western Hotel where Bailey felt right at home. As soon as we got settled in the room, Bailey goes and craps right in the middle of the room. I guess the lesson here is Bailey does not like this trip so far and has a great way of showing it.
