Recovery Day

I sit here early morning, 7:30 am PST. Sprawled on the couch with my computer and two ice packs on my upper and lower back, drinking decaffeinated tea. You heard right…I am taking a break from coffee for a while. I am resisting the increasing urge to put on my workout gear and go for a nice run in the pouring rain. (Again you heard right) I am trying my best to give my body rest it desperately needs. Yesterday (Sunday) I did rest and did not run. Today I am resisting with every ounce in my body to not get out there and feel the pavement pound underneath my shoes as I run. I know it is best for me. I have to keep saying that. According to my plan right now, 4-5 days a week will be plenty days of training for the next three weeks, if I also include strength training.

Today I also have an appointment with my chiropractor. It is my second appointment that I have been rescheduling over, over, and over again because I have been too busy. Jason will be coming with me as well. My first apointment, the first exam was over two months ago…yikes.. So we will see what the results were of the xrays and subluxation exams. I hope there is some good news.

I also need to schedule some follow up appointments today. For other things I have been neglecting such as my primary doctor, dentist, maybe a foot doctor too…etc…
