I apologize for the lack of posts the past two weeks. Last week I was recovering from an awful cold and had no energy to post anything. Earlier this week I was doing a training north of San Diego in a place called Minafee? Regardless, with the training three days this week and then Thanksgiving…it made it difficult to post any updates.
So let me start off by saying that I had a wonderful time, I drove up Sunday night and met the coordinator and other trainer: Debbie. We had dinner that night and discussed the schedule for the next three days. After a long dinner meeting we were off to the hotel to get some rest before the first day of the training.
I could not sleep at all the first night. I tossed and turned all night. Still I woke up early and went for a run. The run was miserable, it was freezing out. I luckily had brought appropriate clothing. However, I did not know the areas, my stomach was upset and by the time I got back I was just feeling like crap. I got ready, the first day of training we started around 9am and ending around 5pm. The food was great and we had a smooth day overall.
The second day of training was even better people were starting to get the hang of how it works. I guess I should mention that NAMI Connection is a program where two facilitators lead a weekly support for consumers. This training is for those facilitators. We got home a little earlier this evening.
The final day was the shortest day as we finished up and gave people their certificates. Some people wanted more time. Others learned and got some out of the training. My small group, all of which were from San Diego…are pictured here.
