Football Sunday

I will describe a typical Sunday here for Jason and I. Wake up. Turn on the TV. Watch football. All day. Go to bed.

Every other Sunday and recently back to back Sundays, we have been doing the following: Wake up. Go to Winstons (The local Redskins Bar). Watch the Redskins game. Come home. Watch more football. Oh yes.. eat dinner. Then maybe…just maybe watch Dexter at 9pm. If we are not too exhausted from watching football all day. Go to bed by 9pm to be nice and rested for the work day.

However, I prefer to find other ways of entertaining myself during the festivities of Football Sunday. Luckily, Leo (one of Jason’s Navy buds) came to rescue me from Winstons during the game this morning and kept Jason company while I met a friend for lunch. It was nice we went to Souplantation, which is a soup and salad buffet all you can eat. And the best part was I didn’t have loud music ringing in my ears or drunks stumbling all over me for once. Suzanna, my friend whom I met for lunch, we sat and talked without having to worry about having to leave for work in 30 minutes and especially not having to worry about football.

Don’t get me wrong I do like watching football. But you must understand I need it in small increments. I cannot stand the Thanksgiving holiday because it means, 24/7 football. I am a sports fan 100%.

Now, I call Jason I am at the drug store and ask him if there is anything I need to pick up. He says no I just went to the store, he is making dinner tonight. And he is ready to watch more football! I hang up, and head home. Five minutes from the house I see that Jason is calling. I answer. “Baby…I forgot to get dogfood..Can you get some?” “Sure”…I say. I stop again. Pick up dog food head home.

Guess what Jason and Leo are doing when I get back? Watching football. Don’t get up guys. I don’t want you to hurt yourselves. The afternoon game is on. Not only that, but there is still another game on later…The San Diego Chargers are playing the late game! Oh Joy! I am thinking to myself. I decide I need to get out of here. So I change, and head out the door for a long run and take Bailey with me. He was very excited. After running a few miles before the sun goes down I come home and dinner is ready. Jason is a sweetheart I have to give him that.

Jason and Leo after dinner are back to concentrating on the Chargers game. Nothing is more important than football right now. Their eyes are glued to the television. Very little conversion. If there is conversation, it concerns…guess? Football, Navy, or the dog. Not to say that that is a bad thing necessarily. They are guys. This is what guys do on Sundays. But if you were a girl, what would you be thinking? I am thinking its time to do my nails and call my best friend :) That is if she is still up. Stupid boys.

  2. Wanna know what we did yesterday? Went furniture shopping in an historic factory showcase, ate a delicious meal, then took the scenic route home through the countryside. When we got home, I played Call of Duty while he did all the laundry then I made soup and we watched SATC together.
