Jason and I decided to celebrate Valentines day today instead. We went to our favorite spot called, the Brockton Villa which is this small restaurant which has a beautiful view of the ocean and very cute white fenced patio.
After not speaking with Jason for a week we had plenty to talk about, everything from what the submarine was like, to the move to CT, to future plans, alot was discussed. It was nice finally being able to communicate. I think before he left I had taken fore granted the fact that I could talk to him about things and probably didn’t maybe because I was afraid to or didn’t want to cause a confrontation. But now I know that I can and I know that I need to be sure that we talk and are open with each other.
After a nice lunch we went out to the beach and grassy area to walk around. I wanted to go see the sea lions that were all perched on the rocks basking in the heat under the rays of sunlight.
After snapping this shot above I wanted to get closer, so we went down to the rocky beach which is one of the only swimming area/beaches in La Jolla. The waves splashed up all over my legs and feet and it felt great. As I slowly inched closer to the sea lions not to startle them I tried to get an action shot…To get an action shot of a sea lion is like getting an action shot of a blade of grass. They barely move.
Finally I get an action shot. This sea lion was diving back into the water, probably to cool off. It was amazing to be able to get this close to them. After that Jason and I headed home, for a night of movies and tortellini soup. An all around perfect day.
