SGs Workout Plan Summer Update

So it appears I haven’t posted in a while. I hope all my friends and new found readers are all having a lovely summertime. Here is an update in the world of my health, and generally what how my plan is alittle different these days.

First off, I have decided to continue with the course of Bariatric Surgery. However, before I do, I am trying a last ditch effort to try a newer weight loss injectable drug, called Saxenda. I will be titrated on this for about three months and monitored. Of course, there was another factor that impeded my plan. I have for the entirety of my life have dealt on and off with my jaw being misaligned. This as you can imagine has lead to some oral problems in my adult life. Add the other factor of increased weight, and poof…I have incredibly severe sleep apnea. Off the charts sleep apnea in fact, to quote the Nurse Practitioner on my case. I go in for a sleep study perhaps…and consult on August 5th. Until then, I wait. But not without having made some changes.

Until that time I have transformed our little garage into a small workout space for myself. I have mostly body weight equipment aligned against one wall, medicine ball, light weights, kettle bell, jump rope and mats. I have tried to start spending small amounts of time milling around in my garage at night, getting at least a small amount of lifting or general cardio moves accomplished. Do I like working out in the heat of FL late at night? NO not ideally. Although it is the best time of day, other than the early early morning. I have tried to start walking first thing, if I am able to with my schedule. Otherwise with my diet, I am working with my doctors to make adjustments with meds, etc. I have started taking chewable flinstones vitamins to prepare my gut for the process, which in itself is fun and nostalgic. I have tried to stave off drinking, almost completely. I will still indulge maybe once a week if that. Sugar is my big weakness, and I try continually to find new ways to replace that need. One thing was giving up coffee creamer. I fucking love coffee creamer. But I realize it is useless calories, and I am now attempting to enjoy black coffee with a touch of stevia and sometimes alittle milk.

I am excited about the process, and not disappointed in the stall in the plan. I am actually thankful as it gives me more time to consider alternative weight loss, or at least so I can say that I have tried most things. In the end, I plan to take some current pictures of full body and measurements to have a baseline, and point of reference if I get off course to find some encouragement. Until next time, hopefully with another update that I can say that I have dropped some sort of larger loss of weight.
