Off to work I go….

Just a general update. It was a challenging day. I had an early staff meeting in the office. All four of us carpooled to school and work. So I was at about 5 different places today in Jacksonville, Fl. I also gave a NAMI introduction presentation or “NAMI 101” presentation to the staff of PGA Tour Headquarters in fancy Pointe Vedra Beach. If today was a test of my anxiety and symptoms, this was the ultimate test. I passed in my opinion with flying colors. Not to say it was easy, it was incredibly difficult at points. Overall it was a great first day back. My co-workers greeted me with hugs in the office. I felt welcomed and part of the team. Initially I took a week off because of my symptoms starting to pervade or become evident at the workplace. The following week (last week) I worked remotely. And then there was today. I went full force into work. I was so in the zone that I performed well, did not even make one absurd or unfiltered comment.

I was glad to be back, the whole sentiment in the office was happy to see me back. I missed everyone too of course. At the same time, I did do alot of unnecessary driving. We tried a master plan today to save on gas. We dropped the kids off in Orange Park for school at 7:45am. By 9:00am I dropped hubby off at the Mayport base. ( Yes, that is his hour commute every day to work.) Then I hauled butt to downtown Jax, where the NAMI office is. I was late of course, 30 min late to the staff meeting. After the meeting we rushed off to Pointe Vedra Beach, where Suzanne and I gave the presentation. After NAMI 101 to PGA, I drove 45 min back to Mayport to pick up Jason. Then from there it took an hour to come back and pick up the kids at 3pm in Orange Park. Not a good plan for the start and I am glad all that driving is over with. From now on we will take separate cars.

The presentation itself was amazing. I was so glad I was invited to present with Suzanne, our Executive Director. I am in awe what I am capable of, at the same time I am now taking it easy after a long exhausting day.
