Steps forward

Since my last update, I have been busy with the new job. I am taking over a caseload shortly and have been doing many hours of training and Court observation. My office is cozy and put together, co-workers are amazing and supportive.

My health has improved lately. I am sleeping almost every night, throughout the night. Without the assistance of a sleep aid. My regular medication dose for daily maintenance has been reduced in strength. I am still slowly losing some weight, after all the sleep apnea related weight gain. I have lost about 20 lbs, and continuing to lose. Quit smoking for the past year, and picked it up for a few weeks while my sleep was out of whack. I have not smoked in a good week and feeling a lot better physically with not doing so.

Life is evening out pretty well. The girls are doing great in school. Ella has the lead in the school Christmas program this winter. Both are excelling in school. Hazel has a field trip today. I am so glad that they are doing well. They have religious education tonight, and Jason and I have RCIA in the evening as well.

I am looking forward to the weekends more now, and usually pretty tired most days in the evening. Most importantly, I look forward to going to work. I am excited for all the new opportunities and ability to have a more predictable schedule. This weekend I will be hanging out with GAL volunteers and staff on Sunday, at the TEALGATE for the Jacksonville JAGUARS game. I cannot wait and so enjoy sporting events in general. I am happy that everting has come together and overall the transition with work has been a smooth process.
