Ella’s Winter Play: The Runaway Snowman

Ella’s Winter Play: The Runaway Snowman

Today was Ella’s drama Winter Play Performance of “The Runaway Snowman.” Ella’s role was Robin, the lead role. She played the girl that befriends Happy, the Snowman. Ella, cast and chorus did an amazing job. She sang, acted and danced her little heart out. I was overjoyed and laughed the entire time watching Ella on that stage. She is a natural. Jason, Hazel, Yaya and I watched the play together. It was Ella’s first big role, but not her first time in front of a crowd.

Ever since Ella was in pre-school I knew she was destined for great things. In Pre-K there was a performance for the school, in 2016. In that performance, Ella shook her hips and sung the loudest on stage. Without a care in the world. For the past two years of school, 3rd and 4th grade, Ella did the morning news announcements at her school. She has always been camera ready. I was not surprised watching her performance that she stole the show. Seeing her on stage makes my old thespian soul so happy. Back in the day I was in drama and performed in many HS shows.

After the show, everyone came up to Ella to congratulate her on the performance. The whole cast worked so hard. It was evident how dedicated each and every child dedicated to rehearsal. We left the school and headed to Skate Station for the school fundraiser. The girls skated, had fun with friends, and Hazel was skating solo by the end of the night. All in all it was an amazing night. I was so happy for the kiddos, and my heart was full.
