I do love a good concert. I was asked by a girlfriend to go to SeaWorld in Orlando to see Hanson. The first thought that popped into my head was an instant throwback. The one hit, “Mm-Bop” came flooding back and memories of the late 90s. I thought instantly of high school and mainstream boy bands. I am admittedly a Backstreet Boys fan from back in the day. But MmBop? Nah, not my favorite. High school memories? Definitely not my fave. I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised thirty years later in the present day to have enjoyed this concert, and loved the company of a sweet friend. To make it even sweeter, the Spring Food Festival was happening at the park. We ate and drank all kinds of amazing food samples. Caught the sea lions show, walked through some really cool aquariums and exhibits. All with the added bonus of not Mom stressing the entire time over the kids. I cannot wait to go again soon and enjoy the day with the whole family, but it was extremely nice to aimlessly walk around with beautiful weather and good company. When the concert kicked off a few hours later, I was taken aback by the amount of Hanson groupies. I’m talking Hanson Tour shirts, HANSON AF t-shirts, printed shirts, all of it. There was quite a crowd and seemed that they had a decent following. As they took the stage I was impressed by their rhythm and harmonies. They could all play multiple instruments as well. They played a couple of better known songs, including Mm-Bop of course. It was their performance and story telling that drew me in. I loved every minute of the show. I have never came into a concert with so many reservations to have them completely shattered. It was a wonderful day and a great change of pace from the usual weekend reel. This is not the same group that I associated them with and this was not the nineties. It was a trio of musicians who have grown and developed, I was watching a completely different group that blew me away. Furthermore, I am grateful for my hubby for giving me the ability to have hot mom dates, hang with friends. I had an amazing time and enjoyed our hot mom date.
