In a world that congratulates self-promotion and personal branding. We get lost in a rabbit hole of videos of strangers trying to peak our interest. It seems in this high paced culture we aim to rule, rather than serve. This builds a sense of safety and community. It creates power, control, and promotes personal status. We are after all chasing the american dream? Let that sink in for a minute. What is it we are truly seeking.

What if what we sought was true leadership and true service. What if we created a foundation for change and fostered hope. Today, humility is comparable to weakness. As are many personality flaws, ailments, addicitons, illnesses comparably considered weaknesses. Humility is different, becuase humility is about selflessness, and thinking about the greater good. Here, in 2026, humility and service are almost radical but timeless concepts.

How does one practice service in a world that denies and rejects these ideas.? I wonder the same thing. Now in my own life I must lay the foundation for service and humility, by not performing for others, but understanding through small steps that I do not have all the answers. Shift my focus and realize that I might not have the solution and ask, approach and absorb as much as possible.

So next time I see the next business being promoted, or product advertised. Maybe I will stop and ask, rather than dismissing, because maybe I do not know. And I need to practice more humility in order to be my best self in this new chapter.
