Thank you for visiting the seascape chronicles. There are many things that I love about this name. First, it is unique because the title includes my initials “sea” or Sarah Ellen Ashworth. ((DISCLAIMER my name is now: Sarah Ellen Grant, but I still love my maiden name and my initials.)) Second, I love the water so its very appropriate that my initials spell such a word. Third, seascape has more than the obvious meaning. the seascape is a view, or one’s outlook, an illustration. Last, the “chronicles” describes just a way to tell the “exciting” details of a life-less ordinary.

My Hero, My Strength, and the most beautiful women in the world who has taught me so much….I dedicate this blog to her.. I love you deeply Grandma Ellen Rossignol, Rest in Peace. UPDATE (2021)—I still dedicate this blog to Grandma Ellen, but must also recognize and add an additional dedication to my mom, Melinda Rossignol-Ashworth. She is the most selfless woman, the best mother and grandmother (MIMI) to our little girls. I love you mom and miss you every day we are apart.
The picture on the right, is the first memorable sketch of the calming river scene that is permanently etched in my memory. The vision is of the Potomac River, the view from our house growing up in Southern Maryland. What I remember most vividly was a majestic blue heron that would frequent the river. The blue heron was always calming to me, reminding me of peace and tranquilIty, especially in my most trying times as a young adult. If I were to chose an animal to aspire to be, this would be it. The Great Blue Heron. Since I drew this in 2007, I vowed to one day make this scene of a sunset, from the grassy riverbank of my adolescent home, the river and the blue heron permanent as a tattoo. Representing the peace and harmony and good memories left behind.

you’re gorgeous. by the way, greek food sometime?
