February. The countdown begins to the big day. As in the big move back east to Groton, Connecticut. We will be moving back east on or around March 15, 2011. Right now nothing is packed. I did get the boxes out however. We do not have much here, we have a sofa, a big screen tv, a few small tables, our clothes, bed side tables, and very little kitchen things. When we moved here we barely filled a medium-sized Uhaul. The NAVY is “supposedly” going to move everything, in addition to shipping his truck. Which means we will be taking my lovely little red Toyota Yaris. Which somehow I have already driven all around the U.S. and has 87,000 miles. I am really excited about the trip, and there is alot of work to be done before then. We need to pack, Jason needs to graduate from school, I need to train my new replacement at work, etc… Oh and Bailey. Bailey is extremely excited he can hardly stand it. He is so excited he is passed out on the floor right now. When he travels in the car though he has certain requests: 1) the window must be down at all times. 2) must have front seat access, or lap privledges should he get tired of being in the back seat 3) must make hourly bathroom breaks 4) must have nice treats and snacks during the trip 5) and most importantly must have input into music choices OR ELSE! YES we learned our lesson last time from driving cross country with Bailey last time. If you disobey any of these rules he will poop on in your car, poop in the hotel (even though you just walked him), pee on you, barf on you, cover you in Bailey slober, try to escape, or refuse to get back into the car….
This trip I am sure will be very interesting and I am looking forward to it very much. Bailey will be an adventure for sure. Last time I drove cross country with Jason we were in separate vehicles. The second time was with my Dad and he had the pleasure of driving my car with Bailey. So this officially will be my third trip cross country.
Mid March:
My last day at NAMI San Diego was March 9th, my last Connection support group March 10th. Jason’s IDC Graduation Friday March 11. The movers came on Thursday March 11th and packed up the entire apartment. Over the weekend we celebrated our last weekend in San Diego with family and friends. His mother, and good friends Ambrose and Pete stopped in for the weekend for Graduation festivities. On Sunday I threw a very impromptu good bye celebration for my good friends at my apartment complex. We had a nice little BBQ.
March 14th-17th Traveled Cross Country. My brother flew in from MD to help with the driving. We had to ensure that we arrived by Thursday afternoon for my Grandmother’s Services and just barely made it.
After a short visit over the weekend with my parents, family and friends we were on our way to CT on Tuesday, March 21. We left at 430am and arrived in town around 12pm. Right around 7hours of travel…of course that was leaving from his mothers house in Laurel not Southern Maryland. So tack on another 1h 30 min of travel from SoMD. Either way drove safely there in good weather conditions and very little traffic until we hit NYC:
It was somewhere here on the bridge where I was cut off by an 18 wheeler in the center lane and almost caused an accident. It was alot of fun let me tell you. We took a few stops along the way and made one more stop before reaching Connecticut and stopping directly at the leasing office of our hopefully new landlords.
Since then, today is Thursday, March 24, 2011…We have been staying at the Navy Lodge. A snow storm has come to visit. I am really excited to see snow we will see how long that lasts…But it is drastically different from San Diego that is certain. I kind of like bundling up in my boots coat and scarf. Anyway today we are off to sign the lease and hopefully move into either today or tomorrow to our new apartment in Norwich Connecticut! Wish us Luck!!

Sash, Jason, Bailey, and Sarah’s younger brother:
You will make it, enjoy each moment on an adventure to a home you will discover is already there. “The course of your life is determined by the condition of your heart,” a quote from Pastor Sergio”s book Heart Revolution, Sarah has a copy if you want to know more.
God bless you and have a safe and wonderful trip,
Devin

Devin, Thank you for the blessings. I think I had a few angels from San Diego get me home safe! Grandma’s service was beautiful. I am already halfway through the Heart Rev! Thank you so much for being there for me. Youre the best. Wishing you all the best. We are safe here in CT finally.

facing the fact isn’t very easy. you understand. however, don’t let bailey down. or yourself. or jason. okay? be strong and flexible, and be sure to keep the window rolled down. avoid driving through texas. it’s a huge, barren wasteland. look for interesting highway signs and take pictures of them. try to snap a shot of lightening striking the ground. ha. bet ya can’t manage that one. no more to say at the moment. my feelings are not to be expressed here.
