Bath time for Bail-Bail

Bath time for Bail-Bail

Bailey does not like bath time

Yes. Bailey. Its Sunday. Time for a bathy. He will groan and whine, yank the leash, lay down on the concrete dragging his claws along the concrete on the way with his tail between his legs. I wanted to show some pictures of how much of a struggle it is, to bathe Bailey. Well, we start out with a good rinsing (pictured above) which he is clearly not to happy about. A good rinse takes two or three go arounds at times depending if I see any fleas. So this time, it took two good rinses, and he was very upset. He paced back and forth, yet he was unusually patient this time and did not start whining and barking until the shampoo.

Bail-Bail is about to lose it.

So I let the shampoo sit a good ten minutes. Throughout that time, Bailey wouldn’t stop whining at me and barking. I felt so bad, it wasn’t cold out, it was about 75 degrees today in San Diego. I think he is just a wimp. Well I finally rinsed him off after the shampoo. And he shook, again, and again, for the umpteenth time. And I put a towel around him started to dry him off. Which is his favorite part.

Well after the towel dry, if you are a dog owner, you know too well that that never does it. So I took him for a short run to do the air dry. He was very happy about that. We only ran about a mile and a half and that was adequate to dry most of his fur. What he had waiting for him when we got back to the apartment was the best part.

The Brush. Bailey does not like the brush. I started brushing and right away he yelped (because of his sensitive skin) and he tried to head back inside. Problem was I had already pulled the screen door. He ran right into it. Full speed. I felt so bad.. So I gave him another treat. He came back over. I promised I would be more gentle. He from then on stuck his head under the chair or pressed his head to the screen door begging Jason to let him inside from the patio. Bail-Bail does not like to be groomed.

The finished product. Here is the Queen of Sheba lying on the couch getting lots of love from Jason. He is a very happy dog now.

What a ham.
