Tallahassee Takeover

Tallahassee Takeover

Spent the weekend in Tallahassee for an intensive seminar at Florida State. It was a long day of workshops to work on foundational clinician skills. The evening ended nicely with indian cuisine, and a coconut margarita to boot while we tackled a SW research assignment. After completing the assignments, I floated around with my friend in the pool. Lately I have been a wreck about school. Connecting with others today I was instantly relieved while speaking to others in our cohort about the commonalities of feeling stressed and overwhelmed. As I sit and reflect on the day and the fact that I am here pursuing this grad degree, it puts other things into perspective and helps me refocus on the goal. It’s been nearly one year into the program, 2 years left to knock down. I feel alittle more at ease after spending the time in class today and surrounded by the social work cohort @FSU. I feel refreshed and refocused despite the long weekend. (Ask me again after I have this exam next week). But for now, all is well and I am relieved in the moment.
