I did not have any major victories this week. It was rather lack-luster watching what I was eating and I was easily bored. Until something stopped me in my tracks. “Be aggressive about your ambitions, do not allow setbacks to set you back.” -Random TED Talk lady I heard while scrolling lazily. I thought to … Continue reading Wk2 Recap SG Plan—Don’t Stop Me Now

Candy Cane day, a lesson in school preparation
The day began like any other Wednesday. Normal kiddo routine getting ready for school. On this day, we were nearly out the door, when Ella realized that it was “Dress like a Candy Cane” day at school. I thought about it briefly and said to myself, who in their right minds would create such a … Continue reading Candy Cane day, a lesson in school preparation
From now on your troubles will be out of sight…
Rooftop View of Downtown JAX Have yourself a Merry little Christmas. Let your heart be light….How many times have I heard this lyric…how many times do I repeat words or lyrics in song, without considering the impact it might have if I just….listen. The weekend came and went so quickly, I met my co-workers for … Continue reading From now on your troubles will be out of sight…
Week 1 Epic Fail Recap—SG’s Workout Plan
I had every intent on trying this week. Even making small changes admittedly is harder than I thought. In terms of diet, I have introduced more fiber, protein and veg and higher water intake. I went on three long walks. I did do some things “correctly”, others were an epic fail. Mid-day hunger is the … Continue reading Week 1 Epic Fail Recap—SG’s Workout Plan
SGs Workout Plan
For the simplistic rule of keeping myself accountable….I wanted to share that today, Friday NOV 26, 2021… I am officially beginning SGs Workout Plan. Not that I will stick to it haha, well I am really hoping getting it down here will assist in my journey. I will not share my weight, but it is … Continue reading SGs Workout Plan
Day of Gratitude and Blessings
I am not the most religious person, although spiritual, not-so practicing Catholic but aspiring to be better—I have certainly seen and done too many things that I would like to forget. Even so, Thanksgiving has came and went. I spent the day cooking, reveling in the family time and eating my weight in potatoes, turkey, … Continue reading Day of Gratitude and Blessings
Winter is Coming, I’m Ready!
I felt the need to share the pre-Christmas Joy around the house that Jason so lovingly put it, “It looks like Christmas threw up in our Living Room.” Every excuse that comes about to decorate for a season I seemingly emphasize the urgency to do so more and more impulsively, like a SG Hurricane of … Continue reading Winter is Coming, I’m Ready!
“The Lady doth Protest Too Much”
2021, a year of reflection. Change. Acceptance. Perseverance. Dissent. Protestation. For years I have been my own advocate. For years I struggled. My own positive values have been shook. I find myself looking around and grasping for air. Fifteen-Twenty years ago I was in denial that anything in my life was abnormal. I held onto … Continue reading “The Lady doth Protest Too Much”
Turn..Turn..Turn
A time to cast away stones and gather stones together. A time to hate, a time for peace. I think about this song and draw parallels to my favorite book, A Tale of Two Cities. The dichotomy of the times. After I am reminded of how long ago I re-read Charles Dickens’ classic I am … Continue reading Turn..Turn..Turn
SG gets her groove back
Well, I am making strides to do so. Some friends and family know that I was struggling with my mental health recently Aug-Sept. I have felt more balanced and generally more focused lately than before. With some perspective I know that I was hypomanic moving into full blown mania during those weeks, accompanied with high … Continue reading SG gets her groove back
My world
Today was a difficult day that ended with cuddles, Harry Potter Movie Marathon, and some much needed one on one time with my eldest, Ella. In the later evening, we had great conversation, and I refocused my negative energies into a more hopeful tomorrow. My beautiful Ella, ready for mass Lots of running around, errands, … Continue reading My world
Work, school and play for the Grants
This week has been challenging. I really wanted a vacation from my “vacation” to Maryland last weekend. No rest for the weary. Ella’s Football Season came to a close this past Saturday, luckily Hazel’s Cheer schedule is ramping up to 4-5 practices weekly in preparation for two upcoming cheer competitions. So this week, Ella turned … Continue reading Work, school and play for the Grants
MD Visit Highlights, and a close call at BWI
Always enjoy my jam packed weekend trips to visit family back home in Maryland. In fact, I probably couldn’t have fit any other plans into the weekend if I tried. Maryland will always be our home, regardless of where we end up. Initially, I had planned to visit MD this particular weekend to be part … Continue reading MD Visit Highlights, and a close call at BWI
NAMIWalks Jax 10/9/21
NAMI Jacksonville held its inaugural in-person walk on this past Saturday, October 9th, 2021. As Programs and Volunteer Coordinator for NAMI Jax I mostly assisted with set up and volunteer assignments. The event was an amazing success. We raised around 75,000 dollars in donations for the walk itself, 190 walkers, and everything went rather seamlessly. … Continue reading NAMIWalks Jax 10/9/21
Aunt Dees Celebration of Life
Visiting home for a general quick visit to Maryland. Today the whole Ashworth Clan traveled to Milleville, DE (near Bethany Beach) to celebrate the life of a very special woman, Dianne Ashworth. Aunt Dee was a huge role model and special Auntie to me growing up. She was a librarian, loved to shop, and loved … Continue reading Aunt Dees Celebration of Life
